The malfi project

Out of Line are reworking Webster’s ‘The Duchess of Malfi to create

‘The Malfi Project’

A 3 part project to bring people together, and use this remarkable and renowned text to inspire conversation around gender equality and violence against women and girls.

We are working to create a bold, chaotic, and ambitious re-telling, that runs alongside a series of workshops and a documentary to create conversation on how we influence each other in the precious space we live in.

PART 1 :

THE SHOW : ‘ The Malfi Project’

2025 : JACKSONS LANE : ‘In Development’ OCTOBER 6th/7th

What happens when the game goes too far?

The messy struggle on the ground meets the soaring heights above us, as circus, dance and theatre collide to reshape our understanding of this renowned classic.

Out of Line re-imagines Websters text into a risk taking, and viscerally compelling 90 minute new version.

PART 2 :

SHORT FILM :

Every mistake and every idiotic move admitted to... we want to document our learning process, and hear from those who don’t usually get heard.

PART 3 :

WORKSHOPS : ‘Taking up Space’

Workshops created specifically around themes associated with The Malfi Project. Awareness around gender based violence and the female experience. Email amy@outofline.org.uk for more information
